A founding member of the Council of Public
liberal arts Colleges, is located on a 300-acre campus in Mahwah (Bergen County) New Jersey. This nearly 40-year-old college educates over 5,500 students per year, including around 127 undergraduate international students.
Ramapo College offers more than 700 classes per year in 40 undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Undergraduate degrees are available in arts,
business,
humanities, social sciences and science,
nursing, social work and education. Students may also earn graduate degrees in Master of Arts in liberal studies, Master of Science in educational technology and a Master of Science in nursing. The school also has partnerships with several schools in the medical fields. Ramapo College has been ranked one of the top public universities in the region for Master's degrees by
U.S. News and World Report.
Ramapo College is committed to providing students with a comprehensive
liberal arts-based education supported by four pillars: interdisciplinary curriculum, international education, intercultural understanding and experiential learning opportunities. The four basic pillars are supported by global partnerships on four continents, as well as the Caribbean and with several Native American tribes. The college promotes opportunities for students to participate in a number of diverse activities such as study abroad programs, internships, field placements, community service and cooperative education.

Students at Ramapo College have a wide variety of cultural and sports activities for recreation. The Angelica and Russ Berrie Center for Performing and Visual Arts offers students the opportunity to attend plays, concerts and art exhibits. The 2,200 seat Bill Bradley Sports and Recreation Center is home to sporting events, as well as providing sporting activities such as a rock wall, track, dance/aerobic studio, swimming pool and gymnasium. There are also one dozen lighted tennis courts on campus.
Ramapo College has a student to teacher ratio of 18:1, with an average class size of 23.
In 2008, Ramapo College was named both as one of the top 100 public colleges and universities by Kiplinger and also as one of the Princeton Review's best Northeastern colleges.
Ramapo College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
The Anisfield School of business was completed in 2007.
Ramapo is home to a number of sports teams, including men's baseball, women's softball, field hockey and lacrosse, as well as both men's and women's basketball, cross country, track and field, volleyball, soccer, swimming and tennis.
The mascot of Ramapo College is the roadrunner.
