Reflexology Certification Institute
The
EMH Center for Health & Fitness
1997 Healthway Drive
Avon, Ohio 44011 The Reflexology Certification Institute, located in Avon, Ohio, is the only school of its kind in all of northern Ohio. The Institute trains students with a formal professional
health care certification or a general knowledge of
bodywork therapies in the art of hand and foot reflexology.
Thanks to two levels of study in hand and foot reflexology, RCI students with only a working knowledge of therapies in bodywork, or those who carry a license in any number of professional healthcare areas, can study and earn certification in reflexology of the hand and foot. For those with a degree in acupuncture, physical therapy, massotherapy, or numerous other fields in the bodywork profession, and those with less experience, the Reflexology Certification Institute trains students to become certified reflexologists.
The Reflexology Certification Institute offers a 100-hour course consisting of 35 classroom hours, 40 hours of documented sessions plus 25 hours of
home study from the RCI study guide. This course covers application of hands-on technique, relaxation techniques and
business administration in bodywork therapies. The 225-hour course at RCI with 56 classroom hours is offered on the third weekend per month (Saturday and Sunday) for four months. This course is open to students who have experience with, but have not yet gotten a license in bodywork therapies. This curriculum teaches the basic techniques of hand and foot reflexology, anatomy and physiology, documentation of the client's progress and marketing of an independent reflexology practice. Both course levels award the RCI graduate with certification in reflexology. RCI also offers workshops where students learn the thumb and finger walk (the basic reflexology technique) applied to the hands and feet. This hands-on workshop at RCI will cover the history of reflexology, how to hold and work the feet and hands and how reflexology can enhance the bodies own healing systems.
