Founded as a war production school in 1942, Renton Technical College is now a career training school that prepares students to enter the job market or upgrade their skills. RTC is accredited by accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges.

Renton Technical College offers more than 70 professional and technical programs leading to an associate degree or certificate of completion in the fields of automotive, business, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, construction, human services, health, manufacturing, and technology. Several courses are available online. In addition, students can participate in a variety of apprenticeship and continuing education programs.

Renton Technical College participates in the statewide Running Start program, which allows high school juniors and senior to enroll in college courses and receive both high school and college credit for their completed courses. Renton Technical College also offers academic counseling, career services, and child care to its students.
