Rhode Island School of Design, founded in 1877, is a private, arts institution offering undergraduate and graduate arts programs in a variety of disciplines. With more than 15 undergraduate programs and more than 16 graduate programs in the arts fields, the Rhode Island School of Design provides students with an abundance of diversity.

Undergraduate Degree programs include furniture design, apparel design, printmaking and much more. Some graduate programs of study include art and design education, landscape architecture, Graphic Design and others. The Rhode Island School of Design was ranked among the top fine arts graduate schools in the country in U.S. News & World Report's, "America's Best Colleges of 2008."

Rhode Island School of Design, is located in beautiful Providence, Rhode Island. The scenic campus includes numerous state-of-the-art facilities and more than 40 buildings accessible to students. Among them are the Fleet Librar,y which features more than 120,000 books, numerous image resources, artists books and much more. Rhode Island School of Design students also have access to Brown University Libraries and more. Other state-of-the-art facilities include the Edna W. Lawrence Nature Lab, numerous student galleries, and the Rhode Island School of Design Museum of Art.

Students can take advantage of a diverse range of both on and off campus activities at the Rhode Island School of Design. Sports are available to students such as hockey, basketball, volleyball and more. Students can also take advantage of numerous student clubs and organizations such as the Film Society, the Snow Club, the Anime Club and more.

Not only are there numerous on campus activities, but a plethora of off campus recreational, cultural and historical attractions as well. Providence is home to quaint cafes, shops, museums, art galleries and more. Students can also enjoy more than 390 miles of coastline.
