Academy with four decades of history behind its name. Roberto-Venn's main guitar-making and repair course is 880 hours over a five month period. Courses begin in the fall and spring of every year. In this course, each student will construct one acoustic and one electric guitar or bass.
The School of Luthiery, in addition to its main guitar-making and repair program, also offers shorter seminars in the use of tools, and amp building. These courses run concurrently with the main constructing and repair program. Since its founding in the mid-70s, R-V has graduated over 1,200 students from nearly every continent. Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery has contacts with nearly every major guitar manufacturer. Their
career-placement assistance program provides students with updated lists of companies that are recruiting Roberto-Vinn graduates for employment.
If you're a guitar enthusiast, there's no doubt you've heard the names Paul
Reed Smith, Fender and Gibson, Collings, and Goodall. This is just a partial list of manufacturers who have hired and started graduates of Roberto-Venn on the road to a career in guitar building and repair. Each student gets their own workstation that is comprised of four to five students and two workgroups are assigned a pit advisor. With one instructor to every eight to 10 students, Roberto-Venn students are guaranteed personalized attention and unique collaboration with teachers and fellow students.
