Offering more than 50 undergraduate and graduate programs, Rockhurst University's 55-acre campus is located in the heart of urban core in Kansas City, Mo. Founded in 1910 by the Jesuits, Rockhurst has remained true to its Jesuit Catholic heritage by teaching individual dignity through the seven modes of inquiry: artistic, historical, literary, philosophical, theological, scientific relational and scientific causal. Today, it is one of more than 25 Jesuit colleges in the country.
Each year, more than 3,000 students attend Rockhurst University. Undergraduate students can choose from a wide range of degree fields including
journalism, German, accounting, physics, political science, economics,
nursing, French and
education. Many students are completing their degrees while working full time, or continuing their education through earning graduate degrees and there is a wide variety of night and weekend classes offered.
In 2006, the
Carnegie Foundation named Rockhurst University was named as one of 12 colleges and universities nationwide to lead an effort to improve teaching in higher education. Rockhurst University is also one of
U.S. News and World Report's top Master's universities in the Midwest.
While the majority of students live off campus in or around the greater Kansas City metropolitan area, approximately 800 of Rockhurst's students live on campus in one of three residency halls or one of the eight Greek houses. Campus living provides easy access to the downtown entertainment and cultural areas, the Country Club Plaza and access to public transportation.

Rockhurst University offers a wide variety of sports, including men's baseball; women's softball and volleyball and men's and women's basketball, golf, soccer and tennis. For students who want to participate in intramural sports, Rockhurst University offers many clubs and teams from which to choose.
Rockhurst University is home to one of the first executive MBA programs in the country. The Helzberg Executive Fellows MBA program claims over 750 alumni from some of the nation's and Kansas City's top corporations.
