Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design has six major academic departments: animation, art education, fine arts,
Graphic Design and digital media, interior design and illustration. Generally, two-thirds of classes are studio-based. The student-to-faculty ratio is 19-to-1 and the average class size is small and supportive at 12 students. Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design also requires students to take classes in foundation studies and liberal studies. Foundations studies classes train all students in fundamental artistic skills. The liberal studies program provides broader education, with classes in the social and natural sciences, history, mathematics and critical thinking. The
Colorado college offers several forms of academic support, including the student-run MAX Center for tutoring. Approximately 80 percent of students make use of financial aid in some form, which is commonly distributed through scholarships, grants, loans and work-study programs.
Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design's location gives students access to Denver's thriving artistic scene, including a variety of galleries and museums. Exhibitions in the
