Franklin University, affiliated with the Chicago
medical school, offers a doctor of medicine program. In conjunction with the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, the Rosalind Franklin University also has a podiatric medicine program. A roster of other degrees through its
College of Health Professions, including nurse anesthesia, physical therapy, physician assistant and nutrition programs are also offered.
The school's namesake, Dr. Rosalind Franklin, was responsible for the research and discovery of "Photograph 51" of the "B" form of DNA, which went on to reveal the structure of DNA. Hailed as the single most important advance of modern biology, Dr. Franklin's work changed the future of science forever. It is through Dr. Franklin's endless quest to discover new and improved methods of healthcare that the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science basis its mission.
