criminal justice was established in 1972 by the New Jersey State Legislature. Recognizing a need for a formal criminal justice program that provided research, teachers and address
Public Policy, Rutgers was more than happy to oblige. Well over three decades later, students from all over the world attend this top-tiered institution and go on to impact and influence the field of criminal justice in numerous ways.
Located on the Newark campus, in 2000 the school of Criminal Justice moved into the brand new Center for Law and Justice. Architecturally, it is one of the most admired and technically equipped academic buildings in the country. The Center for Law and Justice is also home to Rutgers School of Law, the Center for Global Change and Governance, and the Rutgers-Newark Provost's Office. This interdisciplinary environment allows students to collaborate with colleagues in other programs to advance their own academic interests.
The Center for Law and Justice offers Bachelor's, Master's and Ph.D. degrees.
