Salve Regina University is a private, co-educational, non-profit Catholic university located in Newport, Rhode Island. Founded by the Religious Order of the Sisters of Mercy, this Catholic university continues to preserve and uphold its Catholic roots and traditions. The 75-acre campus houses 44 buildings and sits on the famous Cliff Walk in the historic district of Newport. The campus' oceanside setting make it one of the most picturesque places in the country.

Salve Regina University offers a variety of liberal arts academic programs and concentrations, from those rooted in the arts and sciences to pre-professional and professional degree programs. The Catholic university offers more than 15 academic departments, seven interdisciplinary programs and various international study abroad programs.

The Rhode Island university enrolls over 2,500 students from more than 35 different states and 17 foreign nations. Seventy-five percent of its students are from out-of-state. 60 percent of undergraduate students choose to live on-campus while the other 40 percent live off-campus.
