Samford University Cumberland School of Law has J.D. degrees and joint J.D. degree programs. The seven joint degrees include JD/Master of Accountancy, JD/Master of
business Administration, JD/Master of Divinity, JD/Master of Theological Studies, JD/Master of Science in Environmental Management, JD/Master of Public Administration, and JD/Master of Public Health.

Almost 30 percent of all Cumberland School of Law students receive some type of scholarship. Merit scholarships are awarded based on LSAT scores and undergraduate GPA. Current students can apply for merit scholarships, need-based scholarships, and leadership scholarships.

The student to faculty ratio is 18 to 1. Students can expect class sizes of 50, with the exception of lawyering skills and legal reasoning classes, which are limited to 20 students.
Ninety-six percent of the class in 2006 is currently employed, with 67 percent in private practices and the rest employed in judicial clerkships, business and industry, government, and public interest. Five percent pursued advanced degrees.
Cumberland School of Law's course load is 15 hours. To receive a JD degree, students must complete 90 semester hours of acceptable credit with a minimum overall GPA of 2.0 or higher. Many students earn their JD degree in three years.
