Samford University's McWhorter School of Pharmacy is one of eight schools located on the Samford campus, and can be found on Sherman Circle at the campus entrance. The pharmacy school is housed in Ingalls and Russell Halls, with 50,000 square feet of impressive teaching and laboratory facilities. It is also home to the Global Drug Information Center and the
healthcare Ethics and Law Institute. In 2002, the school celebrated 75 years of excellence in preparing students for careers as pharmacists.
McWhorter School of Pharmacy's Pharm.D. program prepares students for pharmacy roles that are ever changing in today's
health care industry. All pharmacy faculty and students have access to PDAs and the devices are integrated into the classroom and clinical environments. Students can access the McWhorter School of Pharmacy Center on the school's website for news and information regarding courses, organizations, and much more. The website also features the student handbook and the MSOP APE manual.

The Samford University Global Drug Information Center is a free-for-service center in the McWhorter School of Pharmacy. The core activities are service, education, and research. The center provides drug information services to more than 15 clients in a number of health care settings. The center is 3,000 square feet with offices, fixtures and equipment for the entry-level Pharm.D. students in each class.
The Healthcare Ethics and Law Institute was created in 1999. The mission of the institute is to promote relationships between patients and health-care providers as well as the individuals who make patient-care decisions and institutional ethics committees.
McWhorter School of Pharmacy has more than 50 faculty and staff.
Fifty percent of McWhorter School of Pharmacy's student body are out of state residents, with 20 percent being minority and international. Thirty percent of students entering the pharmacy school hold bachelor's degrees.
