community college provides an array of educational opportunities for motivated learners. Students have their choice between one and two-year programs of study as well as non-credited continuing education courses designed for personal development. Programs available in the Agricultural and Industrial department of Sampson are among the highlights found on campus. Offering programs of study in the areas of Building Construction Techology, Livestock and Poultry Technology, Horticulture Technology, Industrial Systems Technology, and Welding Technology, this department specializes in providing students with practical, vocational certificates they can immediately use in the job market.
Sampson
Community College also provides basic skills and employment readiness courses available to the general public. These low-cost courses range from computer skills classes to remedial math and English courses and provide a solid educational background for students looking to enter Sampson
Community College in the future. Sampson also provides distance learning options for students who can't make it to campus through online, telecourses, and interactive television mediums.
Sampson Community College also operates Sampson Early College
high school, a public high school located on Sampson campus that serves students in the 9th grade and above. Students who enter Sampson Early College High School earn their high school diploma and an associate degree within four years then typically go on to complete a bachelor's degree at a four-year institution.
Sampson Community College provides academic support to both its curriculum and continuing ed students. Besides open computer labs, academic advising, and financial aid counseling, the school also provides bilingual services and access to journals from around the world through the on campus library. Through Sampson Community College's Student Support Services program, low-income, physically disabled, and first-generation college students can receive additional academic support including tutoring, academic counseling, career interest assessments, cultural enrichment workshops, and computer assistance.
