Savannah River College is a junior college that began as Kerr business College, founded by Dennis Kerr in 1981. The college was relocated to its current location in 1996, and was given its current name in 2005. Savannah River College is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools, which enables the school to award certificates, diplomas, and associate degrees.

Savannah River College offers programs in business, Microsoft IT Academy, and the medical/Allied Health departments. Business programs include associate of science degrees in accounting, business administration, office administration, and diplomas in accounting specialist, administrative office specialist, and business management. In the Microsoft IT Academy, students will gain the skills needed to work in the IT industry through IT training and Microsoft certifications. The Microsoft IT Academy offers associate of science degrees in Microsoft network engineer, and diploma programs in Microsoft Systems Administrator. Medical programs include associate of science degrees in medical assistant, medical billing specialist, and medical office administration. Medical diploma programs include medical assistant, medical billing specialist, and medical office specialist, and a medical certificate in health care technician.

  • For admittance to any Savannah River College program, prospective students must have a high school diploma or a GED. Students are only accepted after a personal interview. Each applicant must pass the Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam or the Wonderlic Personnel Test and must be at least 17 years of age by the first day of classes.
