School of Designing Arts was founded in 1999 to train professionals for the spa and salon industry, offering programs in
Cosmetology, esthetics, and
cosmetology instructor.
The 1500-hour
cosmetology program teaches students the fundamentals of hair, skin, and nail care. The necessary skills to be successful in the industry are acquired through lectures, demonstrations, hands-on experience, and training from professionals. Full-time students complete the program in 10 months and part-time students in 20 months. The 400-hour esthetics program trains students through a medical/clinical approach to skin care. Murad skin care products and protocols are used, allowing students to learn their craft with an upscale product line. The esthetics program is part-time with students graduating in 20 weeks. The
cosmetology instructor program is offered periodically.

To be admitted to School of Designing Arts, students must complete and submit an admissions form, submit a copy of their high school diploma, GED certification or high school transcripts, and meet with a school representative for an informational interview.
Students interested in financial assistance, such as Pell Grant and student loans, must apply for a pin at www.pin.ed.gov and complete a FAFSA form.
