Located in the beautiful state of California, is the Sierra Valley College of Court Reporting. For over 30 years, this Career Training school has been preparing students for certification and entry into careers as court reporters.

While enrolled in the court reporting program -- which takes approximately three year to complete -- students of Sierra Valley College of Court Reporting will learn about everything from grammar, computer skills, machine shorthand theory, and transcription, to legal terminology, medical terminology, and live dictation.

Once a student has successfully graduation from this career Training School, they will be eligible to sit for the California Court Reporters Board exam. By passing this test they will then be licensed as Certified Shorthand Reporters (CSR) and be able to positions working for the California court system, private attorneys, and closed captioning services. Graduates who have become CSRs may also choose to work for medical transcription services, as freelancers, or from the comforts of your own home.
