Silver Lake College was established in 1869 by the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity to educate their younger members to become teachers. The
Wisconsin college started to admit lay women in 1957. Silver Lake College became co-educational in 1969. Today it enrolls over 1,000 students from five foreign nations and seven states.
This Franciscan Catholic college offers associate, bachelor's and master's degree programs in the arts, sciences,
nursing, music and education. In addition, Silver Lake College has accelerated bachelor's degree completion programs for working adults. The
Wisconsin College offers outreach locations throughout the state.
