Located on the Rosebud Sioux Reservation in Mission, South Dakota, Sinte Gleska University is a Native American tribal university that offers undergraduate and graduate level programs. Founded in 1970, this South Dakota university was one of the first tribal colleges in the nation. Today, Sinte Gleska University is a nationally accredited university.

The Native American tribal university is committed to preserving and promoting the culture, traditions and way of life of the Sicangu Lakota Oyate tribe. The academic programs at the South Dakota university remain loyal to its earliest missions. Sinte Gleska University offers associate, bachelor's and master's degree programs in a variety of fields. Areas of study include Lakota language, traditional Lakota arts, human services, art education and cultural resource management.
