Southwest Baptist University is a Christian faith-based college with its main campus located in Bolivar, Missouri, about 30 minutes north of Springfield, a medium-sized southwest Missouri city. There are three satellite campuses in Mountain View, Salem and Springfield. A 30-year-old evangelical college, Southwest Baptist University seeks to prepare students for a work of service.

Southwest Baptist University educates over 3,600 students each year, which includes over 800 graduate students. Over 1,000 of the students enrolled at Southwest Baptist University attend classes on the three satellite campuses. Southwest Baptist University has six schools: College of business and Computer Science, The Courts Redford College of Theology and Ministry, Lewis E. Schoolman College of Education and Social Sciences, Geneva Casebolt College of Music, Arts and Letters, College of Sciences and Mathematics, St. John's College of nursing and Health Science.

Southwest Baptist University offers over 10 degrees in more than 40 areas of study. The degrees offered are: Associate of science, applied science and science in nursing. Bachelor of art, science, applied science, music, science in nursing. Education of science. Master of business administration, science, physical therapy and a doctor of physical therapy.

The college offers study abroad programs to England, Hong Kong, Korea and Spain. Other programs are available through partnerships in other countries. If students wish to have the international experience without taking a full semester or year to study abroad, they can also sign up to go on one of several mission trips the school organizes every year.

Students may choose to live in one of the several residence halls on the main campus. Men's halls include: Gout, Landin, Maupin, Meyer, Plaster Lodge and Roseman Apartments. Women's halls: Beasley, Leslie, Memorial, Woody, Casebolt and Roseman Apartments.
