Southwest Collegiate Institute for the Deaf is a progressive, state-supported college within the Howard County junior college District in Big Spring, Texas. Its mission is to provide students who are deaf or hearing impaired with the opportunity to pursue associate degree programs and vocational classes in a self-contained, supportive environment.

Fields of study at Southwest Collegiate Institute for the Deaf include auto maintenance, computer science, building trade, data entry, dental lab, graphic arts, office technology, and welding. Degree programs offered at Southwest Collegiate Institute for the Deaf include associate of arts, associate of science, associate of applied science, and associate of arts in teaching. Students are able to apply general education credits towards a bachelor's program at a four-year institution. At Southwest Collegiate Institute for the Deaf, students may also enroll in programs for Interpreter Training and Paraprofessional for Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
