Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary was founded in 1901 as part of the theological department at
Baylor University in Waco, Texas. The Texas seminary separated from Baylor in 1907. Today, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary is committed to offering academic programs that combine faith and practice. It is dedicated to teaching the Bible as the inerrant Word of God.
Although Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary offers many graduate and professional degree programs, it also offers two bachelor's degrees in
humanities and music. Graduate and professional degree programs at the Texas seminary include Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Lay Ministry, Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Ministry and Doctor of Educational Ministries.
