Spartanburg Methodist College (SMC) is one of the few colleges in the South devoted exclusively to the freshmen and sophomore years of college. In fact, we are the only independent residential two-year College in South Carolina and one of the few colleges of this type in the Southeast.

Since Spartanburg Methodist College focuses directly on these two years of education, IT does a great job of academically preparing students to move on to their junior and senior years of college. Classes are small and individual student attention from faculty is plentiful.

For many, IT is the extraordinarily high acceptance rate of our graduates at major universities. At SMC, our associate degree programs are so strong, more than 90% of our graduates continue their education at some of the nation's finest universities and colleges.

Its 110-acre campus located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, only a few hours from South Carolina's beaches and North Carolina's ski slopes.
