Spectrum Beauty Academy is a Cosmetology school located in Alexandria, Virginia. The Spectrum Beauty Academy prepares students for positions as cosmetologists; estheticians; nail technicians; and barbers.
Spectrum Beauty Academy offers students a mixture of classroom training in small class sizes with instructors who have a combined 30+ years in the industry. Accelerated programs are available, giving students the option of finishing a course of study in as little as six weeks. The Spectrum Beauty Academy offers several courses of study. The cosmetology course prepares students for the state board-licensing exam in cosmetology. Students who complete the course will be able to perform hair coloring; perming; relaxing; hair-weaving; facials; and nails.

Students who graduate from the nail technician course will be able to take the state licensing exam and perform all functions related to being a professional nail technician. The esthetician/massage therapy course teaches students the history of professional esthetics and skin care, personal hygiene and public health, physiology and histology of the skin, analysis, skin care, anatomy, facial treatments, make-up application, and massage therapy. Students may also opt to take the esthetician self-study course, which allows students with self-motivation and discipline, who need a flexible schedule, to study on their own with guidance from the school.

Prospective students who wish to enroll at the Spectrum Beauty Academy must be at least 16 years old; attend an interview with an academy representative and submit an application. New classes begin on the first Monday of each month, allowing students to begin their education at the academy almost immediately.
The Spectrum Beauty Academy has a number of salon partners in and around the Alexandria, Virginia area. Students at the Spectrum Beauty Academy can gain practical experience by working in the spa at the school.
