Known worldwide as the birthplace of basketball, Springfield College has a history that spans well over a hundred years and several locations. When this modest Massachusetts college first opened in 1885, its small student body of 18 only occupied the second floor of a local YMCA. Since then, Springfield College has seen both its campus and student population grow in leaps and bounds.
These days, Springfield College boasts a student body of more than 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students, and over 28,000 alumni throughout the world. Having long outgrown its YMCA dwellings, this Massachusetts college now has a main campus in Springfield, and nine satellite locations spread across the United States. From sites in California and Wisconsin, to Florida and New Hampshire, you're sure to find a piece of Springfield College no matter where you reside. Devoted to the education of students' minds, bodies, and spirits, Springfield College aims to create leaders within the Allied Health sciences, human and social services, and sports movement activities, as well as in the realm of the arts and sciences. Towards this end, the college offers over 60 degree programs, and annually provides more than $12 million in financial-aid grants to students. |
