St. John's College-Annapolis in Annapolis, Maryland, was given an unfinished building and four acres of land when it was chartered by the state of Maryland in 1784. The campus now covers more than 30 acres and is a National Historic Landmark within the Annapolis Historic District.

The undergraduate program at St. John's College-Annapolis follows a required curriculum based on great books in the Western tradition. Past seminars have included studies of works by Plato and Tocqueville. At the Maryland school, freshman seminar follows Greek works and sophomore seminar focuses on selections from the Hebrew Bible and Roman authors. Junior seminar includes writings from the 17th and 18th centuries and senior seminar is the most contemporary, with studies of works by Hegel, Nietzsche and Heidegger.

St. John's College-Annapolis also provides students with a three-year laboratory program. Freshman laboratory focuses on chemistry and biology, junior laboratory emphasizes physics and senior laboratory studies genetics, biology and physics. Students at St. John's College-Annapolis in good academic standing may apply for transfer to St. John's College-Santa Fe.

While there are no fraternities or sororities at St. John's College-Annapolis, the Maryland school offers students both intramural sports programs and extracurricular art courses. Music practice rooms, an art gallery and a music library are among the available facilities. St. John's College-Annapolis also offers boating, sailing and crew activities.
