St. John's College-Santa Fe in Santa Fe, New Mexico was opened in 1964 and is the second St. John's College campus. Set on 250 acres, the campus is located in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The nearest metropolitan area is Albuquerque, New Mexico, located 57 miles away.

At St. John's College-Santa Fe, the undergraduate program follows a required curriculum based on great books in the Western tradition. Past seminars have included study of works by Euclid, Newton and Austen. Freshman seminar at St. John's College-Santa Fe follows Greek works, while sophomore seminar focuses on selections from the Hebrew Bible and Roman authors. Junior seminar includes writings from the 17th and 18th centuries and senior seminar is the most contemporary, with study of novels like War and Peace, Faust, and The Brothers Karamazov.

St. John's College-Santa Fe also provides students with a three-year laboratory program. Freshman laboratory focuses on biology and chemistry, junior laboratory emphasizes physics and senior laboratory studies biology, genetics and physics. Students at St. John's College-Santa Fe in good academic standing may apply for transfer to St. John's College-Annapolis.

Although the New Mexico School has no fraternities or sororities, St. John's College-Santa Fe offers students extracurricular arts programs and intramural sports. Music practice rooms, a music library and an art gallery are among the available facilities. Sports offerings include martial arts, yoga, rafting, rock climbing and skiing.
