St. Olaf College is a Minnesota liberal arts institution of the Evangelical Lutheran church in America that was founded in 1874. Known for its programs in music and mathematics, it has also been recognized for innovative approaches to undergraduate science, a long-standing participation in global education, and a commitment to environmental sustainability.

St. Olaf's was one of 40 colleges recognized in the 2006 book, "Colleges That Change Lives." The school is committed to becoming "green" and will open a new Science Complex with over 175,000 square feet of learning facilities.

Though it is connected to the Lutheran Church, all religions are welcomed and accepted, with various religions represented in the student body. Students are encouraged to get involved in the faith organizations, student activities and campus athletics on campus to enrich their college experience.
