Stetson University is located in DeLand, Florida, and was founded in 1883 as Florida's first private university. The Florida School sits on a 165-acre campus that is included on the National Register of Historic Places. Facilities at Stetson University have been updated and modernized, with the Florida school recently spending $12.7 million to renovate and expand its Lynn business Center, the first building in the state to receive certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

The DeLand campus is Stetson University's main campus and houses the arts and sciences college, and the schools of business administration and music. The law school is located in St. Petersburg, with a law center and campus nearby in Tampa since 2004. The Stetson University Center at Celebration, offering advanced degrees and professional development, is outside of Orlando. More than 60 majors and minors are available to undergraduates at Stetson University.

Stetson University is an NCAA Division I school, with varsity opportunities in men's and women's basketball, tennis, golf, crew, cross country, soccer, men's baseball and women's softball. The Florida school also offers study abroad programs in France, Germany, Spain, England, Russia, Mexico and China. Other programs at Stetson University include a semester in Washington, D.C. and a summer business program in Austria. U.S. News & World Report has ranked Stetson University among the South's top four regional universities for more than 15 years.
