Stone Academy, an institution devoted to providing a solid education in business and health studies, dates back to 1864 when it was originally established as the United States College of business. In the late 1980s the institute combined with the Academy for Business Careers to form what is now known as the Stone Academy.

Stone Academy offers programs in administrative office professional, medical office, medical assisting, patient care associate, an English as a second language and licensed practical nursing. The administrative office professional program enables graduates to work within a technologically savvy work environment. The medical office program provides students with the skills to work within medical and health industries as administrators and management professionals. Students enrolled in medical assisting acquire skills in order to provide support to patients through office administration or clinical work. The patient care associate program offers training to students who wish to take on a clinical-based occupation within the medical industry. The English as a second language program helps students gain proficiency in English. The Stone Academy's licensed practical nursing program prepares students for certification as registered LPNs. Graduates of this program are qualified for entry-level practical nursing positions.
