The Stuart School has been functioning as an independent college since 1961. The course requires 67 credits for completion. The certified coding associate program at The Stuart School is geared towards those students who wish to become certified coders. Once the 67-credit course is completed, students are prepared to take on positions at hospitals, clinics, ambulatory health care settings, third-party administrators, physicians' offices and long-term care facilities. The Stuart School's medical assistant program teaches students the skills needed to work and excel within a physician's office or clinical setting. Students enrolled in this program become proficient at checking vital signs, charting results, front-desk duties and performing laboratory tests. The program also prepares students for the national certification examination.
