- Canton's four residence halls -- Heritage, Rushton, Mohawk, and Smith -- are located along the peaceful Grasse River near classroom buildings, the library, the gym, and Chaney Dining Center. The four residence halls are about a 10-minute walk over the footbridges from downtown Canton.
- SUNY Canton College of Technology is located in the northernmost part of New York State, known as "The North Country." It is a place rich with history and full of opportunities for outdoor recreation.
- SUNY Canton is located on the outskirts of the village of Canton, within walking distance via a footbridge which crosses the Grasse River.
- Academic Support Services enhance the educational opportunities for all students at SUNY Canton. Any student who desires academic assistance may contact a member of the professional staff. All academic support services are free of charge to students.
- Student Cooperative Alliance, the student government, is the umbrella organization over the almost 50 student clubs and organizations. These include 14 clubs organized around academic majors, like Computer Information Technology criminal justice , Mortuary Science and VATA (for Vet. Techs). Become a DJ on WATC, the campus radio station. Get outdoors with the Outing Club . Meet new people through the Gospel Choir, Afro-Latin Club, Native American Organization, Big Brother/Big Sister or through FootPrints. There are also Fraternities on campus Alpha Omega Chi Fraternity, Alpha Theta Gamma, Delta Kappa Sigma and Zeta Alpha Phi , as well as Sororities, Alpha Chi Omicron, Delta Sigma Tau, and Pi Nu Epsil.
