The SUNY Downtown Medical Center is made up of four colleges, the University Hospital of Brooklyn and the campus resource centers. Located in downtown Brooklyn, the SUNY Downtown Medical Center offers a thriving student life, a compelling education and exceptional research opportunities.

Students who enroll at the SUNY Downtown Medical Center may choose to study within the College of Medicine, College of nursing, College of Health Related Professions or the School of Graduate Studies. The College of Medicine has been educating students in the field of medicine for more than 140 years, offering up to 20 different residency programs. The SUNY Downtown Medical Center's College of Nursing offers an undergraduate registered nurse to Bachelor of Science degree program for those who currently hold an RN certification. The college also offers an accelerated Bachelor of Science degree program. The two programs, combined, enroll more than 350 students annually. Continuing studies programs for active professionals in the nursing field are also offered at the College of Nursing at the SUNY Downtown Medical Center. Students enrolled in the College of Health Related Professions can choose to study within the following concentrations: midwifery, occupational therapy, physical therapy, physician assistant, diagnostic medical imaging and medical informatics. In the School of Graduate Studies at the SUNY Downtown Medical Center, students are offered a Doctor of Philosophy degree in three subject areas: neural and behavioral science, molecular and cellular biology and biomedical engineering.
