Tabor College is a
Christian college located about one hour south of Wichita in Hillsboro, Kansas. The motto at Tabor College is "Decidedly Christian," and the education students receive at the college is focused on preparing students for a life of work and service through their spiritual and neighborhoods. While the church is owned and operated by the
Mennonite Brethren Church, the college is in agreement with most Evangelical Christian faiths.
Tabor College celebrated its centennial in 2008. The college was founded 100 years before in a one-room schoolhouse by members of the Mennonite Brethren and Krimmer Mennonite Brethren faiths. Tabor College remained in that building for a decade before it was destroyed by a fire. By that time, the school had grown and several new buildings were constructed on what is the campus today. Tabor College also now has a satellite campus in Wichita, Kansas.
Nearly 600 undergraduate and graduate students per year enroll at Tabor College. Tabor College offers 28 Bachelor's degree programs in three schools: Education, Social Science and Applied Arts, Humanities and Natural and Mathematical Sciences. Degrees offered include: Athletic training, education, history, English, music, Christian ministry, biology, chemistry and computer science. Tabor College also offers pre-professional degree programs in dental, medical,
nursing, physical therapy, optometry and
engineering, as well as 20 programs in which to obtain a minor. Tabor College also offers a Master's degree in
business Administration.
Residence halls are separated for women and men. There are five residence halls for women and six for men. Additionally, theme halls, according to academic major, extra curricular activities, organizations or common interests are available for upperclassmen. There are a variety of clubs and organizations in which students at Tabor College can become involved. They include campus ministry, theatre/performing arts, student government,
business club, intramural sports, multicultural student union, science club, student music association and media organizations.

Tabor College has 15 varsity sports teams, which include teams competing in: football, basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis, track, cross-country, volleyball, softball and cheerleading.
Most of Tabor College's students are from Kansas - more than 55 percent. However, students also come from a number of other states, including California, Texas, Oklahoma and Colorado.
Students at Tabor College also have convenient access to the Kansas cities of McPherson, Emporia, Salina and Newton.
Nearly 100 percent of students at Tabor College receive some form of financial aid. The average financial aid package is $13,000.
The recreation center at Tabor College includes a 2,400-square-foot weight room, which was added to the facility in 2001.
