A non-profit organization dedicated to the Healing Arts, Tamalpa Institute offers programs and workshops that support the Halprin Process, a form of Healing Arts that uses movement-based techniques, visual arts and therapeutic practices.

Students enrolled at the Tamalpa Institute may study within four different training programs. Each program explores the arts, philosophy and theory of the Halprin Process. The programs include training levels one, two and three as well as a master's degree program. Level one is dedicated to one's own personal growth. At this level, students are introduced to the Halprin Process. This level can also be taken as a solo course. Embodied leadership is the focus of level two. At level two, students build upon their skills, and work on advanced personal practices. Students concentrate on professional practices and demonstrating those practices within the community. Level three at Tamalpa Institute is an online course with fieldwork supervision. Students receive faculty supervision and peer support as well as gain work experience. Students who complete training in levels two and three of the Tamalpa Institute may continue on to receive their master's in expressive arts therapy from the European Graduate School. The program is divided into three summers, with the last summer dedicated to the presentation of a student's thesis.

Theory-based learning isn't the only outlet of instruction students receive at the Tamalpa Institute. Many students take part in instructing the institute's public workshops to gain hands-on experience.
