Texas A&M University Commerce is a four-year university located in Commerce, Texas, that was founded in 1889. The
Texas School joined the Texas A&M University System in 1996 and has campuses elsewhere in Texas: Dallas, Mesquite, Navarro College and Midlothian.
The Texas A&M University Commerce College of Arts and Sciences offers students more than 30 undergraduate programs and twelve graduate programs. Degrees range from animal science and chemistry to music and studio arts. The college of
Business and Technology's undergraduate programs include accounting and management information systems, while the college of education and human services at the
Texas school offers degrees in counseling and kinesiology.
First time freshmen at Texas A&M University Commerce live in Mayo College as a community and are encouraged to develop leadership abilities and study skills. The program offers students the opportunity to participate in a freshman leadership class or the Texas school's honors program.
Students are eligible to earn a travel and study abroad scholarship as part of Texas A&M University Commerce's international studies program. International opportunities at the Texas school include a British studies program in London, a Caribbean studies program in Jamaica, and a Spanish culture and language program in Valladolid, Spain. Texas A&M University Commerce also offers students the opportunity to participate in a program from the
American Institute for Foreign Study. Destinations include Australia, China, France, Hungary, Italy and South Africa.
