Established in 1965, the Texas State Technical College is a state-supported Technical College system which comprises four colleges: TSTC Harlingen, TSTC Marshall, TSTC Waco, and TSTC West Texas. Texas State technical College is a coeducational, two-year institution offering a technical-vocational education accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. TSTC serves students from 220 of the 254 Texas counties, most of which are in rural areas with limited access to higher education.

Texas State Technical College offers more than 110 Associate of Applied Science degrees and certificate programs. Programs of study are available in Agriculture; Information Technology and Telecommunications; engineering and Manufacturing; Health and Sciences; business, Commerce and Service; and Transportation. In addition, Texas State Technical College offers customized training programs, skill assessments, and industry certifications through its Corporate College.
