Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is located in Lubbock, Texas, and was founded in 1969 by the state legislature as a multi-campus school. The Lubbock facility is the
Texas School's administrative center, but Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center also has a pharmacy school in Amarillo, Texas and regional campuses throughout the state, including Amarillo, El Paso and Odessa.
The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center strives to provide educational opportunities for
health care professionals and students, while improving
health care. The school of allied health sciences offers students 14 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs in areas ranging from rehabilitation sciences and speech to clinical laboratory sciences. The graduate school of biomedical sciences at the
Texas school offers students graduate and doctoral programs in seven areas, including pharmaceutical sciences, physiology and biotechnology.
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center recently added to its campus with the 2007 addition of a four-year pharmacy school in Abilene, Texas. In the same year, the school of
nursing established the first endowed chairs in nursing.
