The Harris School of Public Policy Studies is one of six professional schools at the University of Chicago. The Harris School provides students with the tools needed to understand and influence public policies to become leaders and agents of social change.

This Graduate School offers a range of degree programs, including Master of Public Policy, Master of Science in Environmental Science and Policy, and Doctor of Philosophy. Harris also offers joint degrees with other University of Chicago professional schools, as well as cooperative programs with the University of Chile and the Tel Aviv University.

Graduates of The Harris School are prepared to tackle complex societal problems -- issues in the economy, public finance, the environment, education, family stability, health care, welfare reform, and international relations.

The Irving B. Harris School was established in 1988 as the result of an interdepartmental Committee on Public Policy Studies at the University of Chicago. The School strives to enhance the University's role in shaping public life through policy relevant research.
