The Institute for Therapeutic Massage, Inc. (ITM) offers a variety of massage therapy programs and over 30 continuing education classes. Students who successfully complete a course receive a certificate of completion and are prepared to sit for the appropriate certification examination.

The 620-hour Massage and Bodywork program provides comprehensive training in the art and science of massage therapy. Reflecting the most current techniques and standards, this program meets and exceeds the requirements of New Jersey State certification standards.

The Massage and Bodywork program teaches Swedish, medical, and other hands-on massage forms, while the 800-hour massage therapy and personal training program develop cross-trained health and wellness professionals with additional gym/massage time.

ITM also offers a 620-hour Eastern Bodywork Program for individuals who want to become a Shiatsu practitioner. This course is designed to advance the knowledge and skills learned in the Massage and Bodywork program with an emphasis on eastern massage philosophies and Shiatsu techniques.

The Institute for Therapeutic Massage offers a 100-hour Hospital Based massage therapy program designed for massage therapists who will work in a clinical setting. This program is offered in conjunction with the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey and Morristown Memorial Hospital.

The institute developed the 750-hour Oncology Massage Certification program to prepare professional to perform medical massage on patients with cancer and cancer survivors. Students will receive training on supportive and palliative care for oncology patients.

Additionally, ITM is the only training center in the Northeast to provide the 100-hour Ralph Stephens Medical Massage Certification program. This clinical program will prepare therapists to help clients with a wide range of musculoskeletal problems.

Continuing Education (CE) is an integral, and life-long part of your massage career. It is the key to keeping your practice up-to-date, as well as expanding your own knowledge. The Institute for Therapeutic Massage offers many continuing education courses for Certified Massage Therapists to expand their knowledge and keep their practice up to date.

The Institute for Therapeutic Massage is accredited by the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA).
