Dr. Ida Rolf was ahead of her time. More than 50 years ago, as one of the few female biochemists in the country, Dr. Rolf knew that not all problems could be solved with a pill. Devoting her energy to creating a holistic system of movement and soft-tissue manipulation, she discovered that remarkable improvement to posture and structure, as well as pain relief and stress reduction, could be achieved. Since 1971, the Rolf Institute in Boulder, Colorado has been training practitioners in the methods and continuing study of the Rolfing technique.

With satellite centers in Europe, South America, Australia and Japan, the Rolf method of personal structural integration is a proprietary practice unique to the Rolf Institute. The course of study at the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration is a blend of experiential learning, academic rigor and personal growth.
