The Sanctuary School of Therapeutic Massage and Energy Medicine is located in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, inside the Roosevelt Glen Corporate Center. Rick and Connie Vrenios are the owners of the school, and have been teaching and practicing massage therapy for more than 20 years. The school offers continuing education to massage therapists, nurses, and others.

The Sanctuary School of Therapeutic Massage and Energy Medicine offers two programs, a 660-hour comprehensive massage therapy training program that combines massage therapy and energy medicine, and a 550-hour massage therapy certification program. Both programs teach students the principles and methods of energy work, reiki-ssage, meditation techniques, Swedish massage techniques, reflexology using the reiki-reflex system of reflexology, anatomy and physiology, pathology, seated massage for corporate or office work, proper body mechanics for optimal health and energy flow, deep tissue therapy and myofascial release, modern spa techniques, neuromuscular therapy and trigger point therapy, advanced therapeutic techniques, first aid and CPR, sociology of massage and ethics, craniosacral therapy, and business development. Upon completing the program, students will have the skills needed to take and pass the Illinois massage licensing exam, the National Certification Exam, and other licensing exams throughout the country.

  • The Sanctuary School of Therapeutic Massage and Energy Medicine programs are offered in a 12-month evening program or an accelerated nine-month daytime program.


  • Honor student and exceptional honor student classification will be given to students with an overall GPA of 3.5 and above or 3.8 and above.
