The University of Manitoba, located in Canada, offers a diverse range of academic programs in more than 160 disciplines. The University of Manitoba is reportedly Western Canada's first university and was founded in 1877. There are several colleges within Manitoba, offering major convenience for students including St. Andrews College, St. John's College, St. Paul's College and University College, Collège Universitaire de Saint-Boniface, Prairie Theatre Exchange and the William and the Catherine Booth College of the Salvation Army. The Collège Universitaire de Saint-Boniface, offers instruction in French. Some undergraduate programs at the university include women studies, music education and environmental design.

There are numerous campus locations through this sizable university, but the main campus is located in Winnipeg, termed the Fort Garry Campus. The Fort Garry campus features numerous state-of-the-art facilities and more than 60 major buildings on its scenic campus including the Elizabeth Dafoe Library, student residences, the Helen Glass Center for nursing and the Freshwater Institute of Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada and more.

Manitoba University boasts about 20 different library locations throughout the Fort Garry and Bannatyne campuses with more than two million volumes and more than 144,000 electronic books.

Students at Manitoba University can also take advantage of more than 100 student organizations, clubs, and recreational activities. Varsity sports are also offered at the University of Manitoba including is football, golf, hockey, soccer, cross country and more.
