Established in 1933, is one of four campuses that are a part of the University of Missouri system. Located in one of the nation's most intelligent cities, UMKC is known for its leading life sciences academic programs and its focus on visual and performing arts as well as urban engagement.
UMKC's academic programs in the different colleges are known nationwide for being highly successful. The
school of medicine offers a six-year program that enables students to obtain both a Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of
medicine. UMKC's School of Law is known for having the highest passage rates in the Missouri bar. UMKC also extensive
internships, providing students with real world experience alongside strong academic programs.
UMKC has a huge impact on Missouri as it contributes more than $750 million to the state's economy. The university is also devoted to conducting outreach programs that serve Missouri residents with free or reduced
health care. Students have raised more than $1 million for the Jackson County free health clinic and the School of Dentistry treats more than 60,000 patients for free or reduced cost annually.
