One of four campuses in the University of Missouri system, was established in 1963. From Optometry to Journalism, UMSL offers over 49 undergraduate, more than 33 Master's and approximately 13 doctoral programs. UMSL is comprised of the following schools; College of Arts and Sciences, College of
business Administration, College of Education, College of Fine Arts and Communication,
Graduate School, Pierre Laclede Honors College, College of
nursing, College of Optometry, School of Social Work,
UM-St. Louis/Washington University Joint
engineering Program, and the Division of Continuing Education.
In addition to intense academic programs, the University of Missouri St. Louis also offers an enriching student life. Students can partake in Greek life, several different student organizations, and various varsity and intramural sports such as gold, baseball, soccer, basketball, tennis etc. UMSL is also located in a terrific location as it is approximately ten minutes away from the downtown area, enabling students to take advantage of St. Louis.
The university impacts the St. Louis community greatly. UMSL has over 70,000 alumni that have settled all over the country and all as it over the world but more than eighty percent have remained in the St. Louis Metropolitan area. UMSL takes great pride in its alumni and it's city.
