On this small, 7,800-person campus, Tomball
community college students can expect to receive one-on-one attention from their professors. Priding itself on providing a personalized education, class sizes at Tomball Community College are low (in some cases as low as 15 to 20 students), giving all enrollees the opportunity to make a connection with their professors and get their questions answered. Tomball Community College currently provides associate degree and vocational certificate programs in the areas of accounting,
engineering technology, management,
nursing, occupational therapy assistant, and veterinary technology. The school also offers non-credited continuing education courses, basic skills training, workforce development workshops, and an alternative teaching certification program. At Tomball Community College's Academy for Lifelong Learning, older adults ages 50 and above can take as many personal interest courses as they like for the low cost of $15 per year. The school also offers educational options for
business and corporate training purposes.
Tomball Community College encourages all students to become an active part of their campus community. The school hosts a wide variety of clubs and organizations ranging from the Baseball Club to the Video Game Association. It also supports a chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honors society for two-year college students, two student-run publications, an intramurals sports program, a student government association, and several campus chapters of national professional organizations. Tomball Community College also sponsors an array of arts and cultural performances throughout the year by both student and visiting groups.
To help all students make it through their program of study, Tomball Community College provides free tutoring by professional educators, computer-based instruction, academic advising, study aids, support for disabled students, financial aid counseling, personal counseling, and an on campus math and writing center. Tomball also provides students with computer labs and access to hundreds of journals and research databases from around the world through the school library. Each year, Tomball Community College hosts an annual job fair to help connect upcoming grads with area companies.
