Tompkins Cortland community college offers associate degrees and certificates in 39 program areas. Some of these programs are occupationally-oriented, designed to provide the skills you need to enter the job market immediately upon graduation. Other programs are designed to provide the first two years of study toward a bachelor's degree at a four-year college or university.

Which program is right for your educational needs? The Associate in Arts Degree (A.A.) is used primarily for transfer programs that lead to the bachelor of arts degree at a four-year college or university. It may be used for general liberal arts programs.

Another opportunity at Tompkins Cortland Community College is the Associate in Science Degree (A.S.). This program may be used for certain occupationally-oriented studies, but is primarily designed to serve science or professionally-related programs that lead to transfer to a bachelor of science degree at a four-year college or university.

Tompkins Cortland's Associate in Applied Science Degree (A.A.S.) is structured as an occupationally-oriented degree. However, it may be appropriate as a transfer degree to certain types of specialized baccalaureate programs such the bachelor of technology.

For some learners, the certificate is the perfect choice. A certificate provides a condensed program in a particular field of study and does not require general education courses. certificate programs generally require only two or three semesters of full-time study. Credits earned may be applied toward a degree if you decide to continue your education.

  • The Learning Commons, the central part of the latest phase of Tompkins Cortland Community College's multi-million dollar campus renovation project, is now open. The Learning Commons provides a home to many academic services, occupying the space that formerly housed the College's gymnasium and library. The Learning Commons represents the most significant physical transformation to the main campus building since it opened in 1974.
