Trinity University is located in Washington, D.C., and was founded in 1897 by the Sisters of Notre Dame as a Catholic liberal arts college for women. Today, the Washington D.C. school offers women undergraduate programs from the arts and sciences college. Majors at Trinity University include sociology, human relations, international affairs, criminal justice and business administration. The coeducational school of education at Trinity University offers graduate students programs in curriculum design, education, educational administration and counseling. The school of professional studies is also coeducational and designed to help students advance or change their careers.

The Washington, D.C. school's facilities include a library, science lab, music practice rooms, an art gallery and several residence halls. The most recent expansion at Trinity University occurred in 2003, when the $20 million athletic facility named Trinity Center for Women and Girls in Sports was opened. Trinity University also offers its students an honors program, study abroad opportunities, and internships for academic credit.

Internships at Trinity University are designed to give students hands-on, professional experience in the areas of their choice. Past students at the Washington, D.C. school have completed internships with the Children's Defense Fund, National Geographic Television, Black Entertainment Television, the White House Communications Office and the Baltimore Sun.
