The United States Marine Corps University is a federal Professional military education institution that limits admission to selected foreign and domestic military members and civilian federal employees of the appropriate rank. The United States Marine Corps University's curriculum develops the professional competence of Marines and other leaders by focusing on development of leadership, warfighting and staff operations skills.

The United States Marine Corps University has three regionally accredited masters degree-producing programs: Marine Corps War college, Command and Staff College and the School of Advanced Warfighting.
