Universidad del Este is the newest of the SUAGM system of schools. Throughout the years of 1990-91, this Puerto Rico school developed a large and profound process of revising its mission in order to enhance its individuality. From that time on, Universidad del Este has provided a great education for all its students.

Universidad del Este was born out of the prestigious historical education of Puerto Rico junior college, which was the first institution of higher education for Associate Degrees. Universidad del Este serves the educational necessities and the training of non-traditional students, adults, and workers, who aspire to a better professional and personal development.
