Since 1981, Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico School of Optometry has offered its students a rich variety of academic and clinical experiences in primary eye care. Graduates of Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico school of Optometry now successfully practice in most towns of the Island, many states of the continental United States, Europe and South America.

This optometry program at Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico school of Optometry is the only Doctorate in Optometry offered outside the continental United States. It is also the main provider of bilingual optometrists in the world. Students from 19 nations and 22 states exemplify the multicultural ethnicities of this campus. It has a main school and clinic with five satellite clinics in Ponce, Caguas, Río Pedras, Santurce and Bayamón.

The program at Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico school of Optometry is uniquely bilingual. When you finish your course of studies you will have acquired communication skills in Spanish and English that will allow you to serve the large Hispanic populations inside the Island and in continental U.S.
